The London Collections Men 2016 took place from 8 to 11 January and marked the first fashion highlight of 2016. Burberry made the start. As so many times before, Burberry gave the stage to a young musician – Benjamin Clementine. With his performance and his staggering voice, Benjamin Clementine, set the mood for this stunning show that mixed Burberry classics with men’s wear. It was a start to days of highlights that emphasize the pioneer role of London in creativity of men’s wear.
The Burberry Fall Winter 2016 with the performance of Benjamin Clementine was among the first day’s highlights.
Moschino was quite the contrast to Burberry’s show. Jeremy Scott shows glamour, color with preppy elements. The show took place in Mayfair church setting. Polarizing as it is, designs were fantastic in diversity. Some of his famous guests included Neneh Cherry, Taboo from the Black Eyed Peas and Noomi Rapace.
Sarah Burton, creative director at Alexander McQueen, had to stick to the confinements of tradition and tailoring. Still the garments of the coats were splendid. The breaking with tradition were then punkish, pierced faces of some of the models. In the end, the founder himself was apprenticed at one of the most traditional houses making suits for the Prince of Wales.
